Take a look at VW Polo and it will definitely evoke the bad boy sleeping inside you, lurking screwed eyes will definitely pierce inside you. A lean-mean machine with super sporty athletic figure and six packs. Additionally car gives a super sharp appeal with a good combination of Front skirt and Sharp head lamp. Looks are not deceptive, Polo is built in with surplus muscle power to impress you.

Polo’s entry in Indian hatchback car race was not a surprise but the price is. Their earlier portfolio has expensive and Luxury cars. Polo seems to be priced high in comparison with other new hatchbacks like Chevy Beat, Ford Figo and Ritz. At this moment I will say its not fair to judge Polo by looks and features, look inside and have a feel of it then you will realize every single penny you spend is worth it. VW is not a car manufacturer, they are car builder. They have a Superior Quality, Structure, Safety features and finishing touch. Polo is Practical and Versatile car and priced Sensibly. It offers space and features equivalent to i20 for lesser price with better safety and build quality. This German car Builder has tweaked the POLO for Indian roads, basically ground clearance is higher than their European version to avoid the car scream in every speed breaker.

Personally I feel the tail lamp looks very ordinary and could be designed better.

Interior of POLO is not very experimental in terms of visual Design. Excellent plastic quality with super chrome touch makes it Rich with Beige Fiber woven inside. Entire interior is in Beige color except the Black Dashboard, that is a smart move by maintaining the good visibility for driver and giving a clean touch.

Driving Polo is a good fun, this German piece of art is equipped with 1.2L petrol 3 cylindrical petrol engine and available in 1.2 L Diesel engine too. Rest of the vital figures are below.

Surprisingly this 3 cylinders engine is good performer against 4 cylinders engine in other hatchbacks and very reliable in all conditions. Driving is smooth, low cabin noise, and perfect torque and gear ratio for City driving and highways. I did not push accelerator to try the limit of it, but my experience with VW Golf (TSI 1.3 L) in Finland was overwhelming, I marked the indicator till 170kmph there, car was still stable and under full control. Not expecting the same max speed with polo, but for sure Polo will be equally stable. True mileage figures are yet to arrive, expecting promising numbers on the basis of past experience with VW Golf. In a single full tank I traveled more than 550 kms and there was enough amount of fuel left in the tank. I guess the no should be near to 17-18 kmpl with AC/heater on and mostly traveled on highway.

Polo offers sufficient back seat leg room, but I expected it to be slightly bigger by negotiating it with large boot-space.

When it comes to the after sales service, everybody wants to play a safe game. Volkswagen promises to give the best after sale service and for the sake of brand you can rely on the words. I spoke to their sales person and they mentioned about Roadside Assistance provided by VW. Every new car is registered for Volkswagen India Roadside Assistance for 2 years from its date of sale. This provides the vehicle with home and roadside recovery in the unlikely event of a breakdown anywhere in India.

Now come to reality and practically it makes more sense if you have at-least one service center in your city to approach, till now VW service centers limited to big cities.
