I had a Karizma two years back. I really loved my bike because the bike was awesome except for few safety features which were lacking as:
1) Strong and reliable Crash Guard (though ZMR had one with least functional value)
2) Rear tyre should be thicker for better grip
Initially I was not in favour of crash guard fitting in the bike, as it did not suit to my sporty Yellow Karizma. But one incident jolt me with the fear when I had a very close encounter with road with my Karizma. The bike skid on the road due to some sand at the turning. Fortunately I didn’t get much injury but it made me give a serious thought to bike safety, primarily the leg guards.
After that I wanted a crash guard but without any compromise with the looks of my bike. Hence I approached several famous bike modifiers in Bangalore near JC road but couldn’t get a satisfactory solution. They had chrome painted ugly crash guard which I didn’t want to put. They were also offering custom made black ones, but they were very expensive and I was not sure about the finishing they would be able to provide so I left the hope there also.
After giving lot of thought to it I decided to look for crash guards of the bikes which have similar Chassis as Karizma. So that it could be altered a bit and fixed without compromising on the looks.
I did a small research and finally I got it YES … YES .. YES .. These bikes are Bajaj XCD and TVS Flame …. Surprised?
.
If you closely look at the Bajaj XCD and TVS flame, they have similar chassis as karizma and their crash guard can fit easily to Karizma and they come in black color too.. they are not huge.. not ugly … not expensive and they are enough strong for the purpose.
I was happy for my findings and I liked the XCD crash guard for the bike. I had to buy entire kit for around Rs 500 coz they don’t sell crash guard separately, but I think still it was worth
. My mechanic fixed it and it came up so well, as if it was made for Karizma only .
Look at image below.
There is no need to do any extra effort to alter, your mechanic will do all the job for you very easily
. The only required thing is to replace the sorter chassis bolts with the longer one … that’s it and you are done with the crash guards.
I hope this post will be helpful for Karizma lovers. I will share my finding in my later post for the tyres Karizma upgrades.

Hay Shailu, I would recommend XCD crash-guard, it looks perfect for bike and designed to bear more weight. And yes, XCD crash guard is wide enough to protect the body.
